You have the requirements and a multi-step task: before coding, break the spec into an implementation plan any engineer — even one new to the repo — can execute step by step.
What you get

Good for
- Tasks that take three-plus steps
- Someone else — or an agent — will execute it
- Last time you improvised and it needed rework
Not a fit
- One-or-two-step errands. Just do them
- Requirements are unclear. Use brainstorming
